Kathy Kirby dies at 72
60s pop star Kathy Kirby has died at the age of 71.

Kirby was at one-time the highest paid female singer in England. She rose to international fame after representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1965. She won second prize. Prior to that she had 5 Top 40 hits between 1963 and 1965 including her cover of Doris Day's 'Secret Love' and her own 'Dance On'.

Her last ever interview (and first in 26 years) was conducted by the Sunday Express in 2009. In it she revealed that some unreleased recordings would be released in 2010 but it never eventuated.

The 39-year-old rap mogul explained he imparted onto the royal - who tied the knot with Princess Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, at London's Westminster Abbey on April 29 - a few words of wisdom about married life, and told William to take his pep talk seriously.

Snoop said: "Look, I've been married for 15 years so I know what I'm doing."

The 'Drop It Like It's Hot' hitmaker - who married his high school sweetheart Shante Taylor in 1997 - also admitted Prince Harry asked him to perform at William's stag party earlier this year, but he had already agreed to attend a barbecue.

Chad Kroeger wants his Nickelback after separation

Chad Kroeger wants his Nickelback after separation
Nickelback founder and frontman Chad Kroeger has been ordered to pay his common-law spouse $25,000 a month following their separation.

Marianna Goriul took Kroeger to a British Columbia court for spousal support payments after their 6 ½ year relationship came to an end. She wanted $95,760 a month. Kroeger was willing to pay $10,000 a month. The judge locked him into $25,000 a month.

Kroeger's income last year was stated in court as $9.7 million.

The court heard about the expensive lifestyle that the couple lived with expensive food, wine, private flights, hired helicopters and limousines part of their daily life.

The judge awarded Goriul the $25000 because as part of the settlement she has be awarded the family pet and a $5100 a month pet care cost.

The couple met in 2002 before Nickelback became famous. Together they purchased a $2.5 million home in Canada and a sizeable house in Los Cabos, Mexico.

Goriul will take Kroeger to court again in August to determine her share of their assets outside of Canada.

Robbie-Williams will be backed by his Take That on solo hits

Robbie-Williams will be backed by his Take That on solo hits
The 'Angels' hitmaker ' who quit the band in 1995 to go it alone before returning to the group in 2010 ' will sing a greatest hits set of his own tracks during the fivesome's 'Progress Live' tour concerts and it has now been revealed that Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange will join him on stage for the segment.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "The guys agreeing to sing backing to Robbie's classics throughout the shows really is significant - all the hard feelings have been put behind them.

"At first he was to go it alone for a mid-set medley but they agreed they all needed to perform on the songs, even if it is just backing harmonies. They are not solo artists. They are Take That."

The tour will see the band perform live as a five-piece for the first time since the 90s, and it is reportedly set to cost nearly £50 million to stage.

A source previously said: "Sure, the band will be making good money. But it could be a hell of a lot more. You wouldn't believe the amount of cash they are pouring back into the stage sets and visual aspect of the show."

Take That's 'Progress Live' European tour is set to begin in Sunderland next Friday (27.05.11) and end in Germany on July 29.

A source said: "They are talking to Fox about how it would work. Ideally, Bono and The Edge would perform and be joined on stage by the 'Spider-Man' cast.

"If everyone agrees, with millions watching, it could be great for the production."

However, nothing is yet to be finalised, and other acts are being considered to perform.

The source added to the New York Post newspaper: "It is still very preliminary conversations. 'American Idol' producers know they could get many top acts on the finale. It has to be what works best for the show."

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina are in the final of the tenth season of 'American Idol' ' which has seen both Jennifer Lopez and Steve Tyler join the judging panel on the show alongside Randy Jackson.

Pete Doherty sentenced to six months in prison
Pete Doherty has been sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty to cocaine possession.

The Libertines singer ' who was arrested last March in connection with the drugs related death of heiress Robin Whitehead ' appeared at London's Snaresbrook Crown Court today (20.05.11) to plead guilty to having class-A drug on his person.

Doherty ' who has previously been jailed twice for drug offences ' will now spend six months behind bars.

In March 2009, Doherty was one of four people taken into custody after 27-year-old filmmaker Whitehead died from a suspected overdose in January 2009 at an East London flat.

Whitehead had been making a documentary on Doherty at the time and he previously admitted to visiting the property the day before and the day after she died but on the night of her death Doherty was at his home in Wiltshire.

The 'Can't Stand Me Now' singer has spoken out about Whitehead's death saying he was devastated by the loss of his 'best friend'.

The 32-year-old rocker wrote on his blog: "I need to think. I need to explain. I need you to know that these families are torturing themselves in the quest for sinister plots and answers that are not there.

"Robyn's father texted me that I am a 'coward and a runt' and that I am to blame. She talked constantly of her father Peter Whitehead. She worshipped him . She would be broken hearted if she knew that I was not even invited to the funeral."

"She was my best friend you deranged old silly. There is no cover up.'

Adam Ant wants to be 'scaring the f**k out of the audience' on comeback tour

Adam Ant wants to be 'scaring the f**k out of the audience' on comeback tour
Adam Ant wants to be 'scaring the f**k out of the audience,' on his comeback tour.

The 'Prince Charming' hitmaker is firmly on the comeback trail with his present UK tour and wants to show the audience - particularly the females who come to see him ' he is back on form.

He said: "I play as if my life depends on it. It's about scaring the f**k out of the audience and having sex with them ' well, the girls anyway.

"I look like Adam Ant again. I'm a dandy. I go out every day and try to impress myself. I'm like the Sperminator ' I'll come again."

The singer - who spent most of the last decade unable to perform as he was undergoing treatment for mental health issues, which he has now resolved ' said that while he aims to produce a rowdy show, he doesn't want it to be like the heyday of punk when he grew up.

He told The Scotsman newspaper: "It was very violent and sexy, till they started spitting and putting safety pins in their nose.

"It was dangerous, like going to Vietnam and surviving. But rock needed it. It was stylish and subversive, dangerous and humorous, too."

The singer's comeback album 'Adam Ant Is the Blueblack Hussar in Marrying the Gunner's Daughter' is set for release next year.

Maylee Todd :: Choose Your Own Adventure

Maylee Todd :: Choose Your Own Adventure
Perhaps the best introduction to Toronto’s Maylee Todd isn’t to watch the video for ‘Aerobics In Space’ first but to listen to her debut album ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’, on release in the UK from 20 June 2011 on the label Do Right. If you were to watch the video uninitiated you would no doubt come away with the impression that this is an artist with a delectable voice on the one hand and a wish for individuality that manifests itself as totally bonkers on the other. I suppose the title gives it away.

But don’t read into that too much, it belies the artist’s rhythmic sensibilities and that’s why you should give yourself the visual treat after unearthing the subtleties of the acoustics. ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ varies from bluesy upbeat pop vocals through to meandering introspective embodied in ‘Heart Throb’.

With these notable shifts in style the album as a whole still glides along rather nicely. She’s ably backed by a band featuring brass, synth, vibraphone, percussion, bass and accordions. Aside from the intro, it opens proper with ‘Summer Sounds’, a pleasant bossa nova beat which has a similar backdrop to those timelessly crafted by a Joao and Astrud Gilberto track. That’s how it starts in any case. By the end it’s retro and futuristic all at the same time; good enough to consider its dexterity yet poppy enough to switch off to. It harks to the future without forgetting its past. In the same way the loud outfits and cartoon influence on the video embellish certain aspects of the sound she’s creating, the gentle spacey pulses and classical instrumentation massage the track into a different auditory era.

A Lullaby to My Fictitious Children is a slightly melancholy soliloquy and in places the seemingly vulnerable Ms Todd succeeds in raspiness that Billie Holliday could lend to her voice - a rough sounding edge to provide the song with more texture. Pegwee Power – a Pegwee I gather is a product of Todd’s other creative outlets – sees her using her self-taught harpist skills and bringing together an almost springlike playful chorus with multi-layered musical arrangement which demonstrate a further string to the musical bow.

There are essentially three filler tracks on the nine track album. But don’t be put off. There is still bang for your buck as the remaining six are thick with eloquence and proffer something genuinely different, ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ displays a universal appeal; she is clearly an artist with vision.

A stolen diamond in cartoon spacetopia sets the scene for the final track on the album and J Lee Williams’ stunning videopiece. With more costumes than Moulin Rouge, Elvis impersonators with baguettes and riding greyhounds towards the moon, it evokes The Watchmen and Ledger’s Joker. It’s actually rather clever. Like the album and its singer.

Nick-Jonas-is-reportedly-dating-Delta-Goodrem
The 18-year-old singer ' who has previously romanced Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez ' was spotted leaving the ArcLight cinema in Los Angeles last night (15.05.11) holding hands with the Australian popstar, who is eight years his senior.

Nick ' who is currently working on his solo career - later tweeted: ' feel so blessed. Had a great weekend.'

A statement released by their publicist at the time said: "Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden regretfully announce that they are no longer engaged, and after much consideration, have mutually decided to end their relationship.

Simon Cowell chose Paula Abdul for US 'X Factor' because she disagrees with him

Simon Cowell chose Paula Abdul for US 'X Factor' because she disagrees with him
The music mogul will be joined by the singer, Cheryl Cole and record producer L.A. Reid for the new star search show and he revealed Paula ' who previously worked with him on 'American Idol' - was the perfect choice because she has her own opinions and is so well-loved by the American public.

He explained: 'What's interesting is she's snappy. Paula. You know, she doesn't like something. I've forgotten what she's like. She doesn't like you to disagree with her. And there were one or two disagreements. But that's why we wanted her on the show. I think it's important that everyone has their own viewpoint. But she is good at spotting talent. I mean I thought she was really on it the last two days and I said to her afterwards, this is the best I've seen you in a long time.

"You know I've been doing interviews for months, you know we're talking about the show and getting people to audition and over and over again, whether it was radio interviews or TV interviews, radio interviews, the internet, but mainly the public, I was hearing one message loud and clear. We want Paula on the show. I listened to the public, because they make or break our shows!"

Simon also praised newcomer Cheryl and revealed viewers can expect her to be warm and caring rather than other 'rude' British judges like himself.

He said: 'Most British people that come over to these shows seem to be being mean or rude. Not me, but others.! But Cheryl, she's not like that. I mean, she's got a lot of fire in her, but you're going to see a very different type of British judge with her and the audience really warmed to her."

Tinie Tempah's success has left his head in a 'very weird place'

Tinie Tempah's success has left his head in a 'very weird place'
The 'Written in the Stars' hitmaker is adjusting to what he calls a "'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' type reality," jetting between countries to perform and promote his debut album, 'Disc-Overy', which has provided him with plenty of issues he wants to address on his next record.

Explaining how he hasn't seen his parents or siblings for months, he said: "I'm starting to think about my life, thinking about where I'm going to be in three years time: who I'm going to be with, where I'm going to be situated myself.

'And all these questions I keep asking myself every day is going into this new record. My head is in a very weird place at this moment, as you can probably imagine.'

Tinie, 22, rose to fame after his debut track 'Pass Out' became a surprise hit in the UK in February 2010, kick starting his career and propelling him on to international star status, and he said this at least makes singing the song's line "I'm a star now" easier.

He added to dose.ca: "It definitely rolls off the tongue a lot easier. It was been more about the ambitions and the goals I wanted to achieve.

'Now that I've got to this point, which is what I wanted to achieve on the first album, there's another place that I need to go to.'

Tinie also said he has completed three new tracks, 'Till I'm Gone' with Wiz Khalifa, 'I So Addicted' and 'Love Suicide' which are more reflective of his present situation.

Justin Bieber set to meet a 9/11 victim's daughter after a request from Barack Obama
Justin Bieber is set to meet a 9/11 victim's daughter after a request from US President Barack Obama.

The 17-year-old singer wrote on twitter: "I think you're wrong. Pretty sure President @BarackObama will keep this promise."
